[OK na Food Trip] Teddy's Bigger Burgers

I've been here once without the Misis kaya it follows na dapat bumalik for a few visits more with her. 

It's in Greenbelt 3, that dimly lit corner na dating Seafood Island. Kaya pala minsang kumakain kami sa Seafood Island, nandun si Marvin Agustin at parang nag-i-inspect ng paligid. Marvin's group brought this franchise here from Hawaii. This is the second branch outside US next to Japan.

What makes their burger special is that the patties are made from pure corn-fed US Black Angus. These are shipped regularly from the US and puttied daily with no extenders. In short, good quality ang karne at natural ang flavor. By default, they grill the patty medium pero pwede namang hindi, basta sasabihin lang. We opted for medium-well, kasi hindi pwede kay preggy K ang mahilaw-hilaw pa. Kaso parang medium pa din ang kinalabasan. Next time, dapat siguro ipa-well done na lang.

Beef patty is juicy but not that oily compared to some of those we tried sa mga ka-level nilang burger joints. Lasang lasa ang beef at napaka smoky ng pagkaka char-grill dito. Customizable ang mga order dahil madaming additional sauce and toppings na pwedeng pagpilian. Frankly, may kamahalan nga lang ang mga ito (e.g. Bacon at +P45 or Garlic Sauce at +P30). We think the burgers are expensive enough so there's no need to make money out of the add-ons and could have priced them more reasonably. Tsaka nga pala, minsan sumosobra sa alat yung bacon add-on.

Patty sizes come in Big (mas mabigat ng konti sa quarter pounder), Bigger (halos kalahating pound), and Biggest (lampas kalhating pound!) with options to double the patties (wow!). All burgers are served in potato buns (malambot pero resistive enough not to break away kapag nabasa na ng mga sauce at oil) and loaded with their special sauce (tamis-asim ang lasa), lettuce, kamatis, sibuyas, at pickles.

Make your meal a combo (add a beverage and fries) by adding P100 more. Aray!

The milkshake is really thick. Maliit nga lang ang serving pero literally, parang tinunaw na ice cream ito. Lasang de kalidad naman ang ginamit na ice cream so pwede na din.

Walang masyadong special sa cheezy bacon fries. It's just cheese melt over fries with bacon bits. Generous ang serving nito at masarap yung alat ng bacon at cheese with fries, especially when dipped with ketchup na may mayo mix. Try it.

Kaching:

Okay na sana yung presyo ng mga burger nila compared to those burger places of the same market level, kaso mapapamahal talaga kapag nag-umpisa nang mag add-ons.

Pwede naman kumain ng plain burger lang or kahit yung cheeseburger for a bit of variety kaso kung ganun lang din, there are cheaper options. In short, prepare mapa-gastos. A single Big burger combo plus a few add-ons should be around P450 to P500. Kaching!

The place is a bit small kaya kapag nag umpisang dumami ang tao (at orders), nangangamoy grilled burger yung buong lugar. Not that it's bad pero syempre minsan ayaw mong kumapit yung amoy sa iyo, lalo na kung may lakad ka pa after dining.

May music pero hindi na napapakinig kapag madami nang tao. But we don't care really.

The entire staff (from the people behind the counter to the those serving in the dining area) are attentive and very warm. One guy who looks like a higher-up among the crew (could be the owner?? ...but we have no idea, really) even do small chats on each table to check on the food.

hawaii's number one

The menu is straightforward and no pretense of having anything fancy going on with their food offerings. They have an al fresco dining on a corridor facing Queens at Bollywood. On a weeknight dinner, madaming tao ang dumadaan dito so lahat sila titingin sa kinakain mo. Medyo hassle.

In Short:
Kapag gusto magpa impress sa isang taong may burger craving, pwede dito. Basta maghanda lang gumastos. But if there's no need to get fancy, there are cheaper options for a burger fix.
