[OK na Food Trip] Hole in the Wall: Phobobo, Bad Bird, Green Cheese, Scout's Honor

Intro
Hole in the Wall is not a restaurant by itself but a sophisticated food court with several upscale stalls, set in a very stylish interior. It's fairly new being opened just late last year so despite being much talked about within the "foodiesphere", now is the right time to drop by while seats are not yet hard to come by.

Green Cheeese
The happiest cheesecake in the world! Or so they say.
The smiling face on top of the cake and how it looks fluffy made us sample a slice. It has the making of a good Japanese cheesecake, it's soft and evenly baked. Matabang ito pero light lang daw talaga ang flavor ng mga ganito. Still, it's like eating air. Sadyang ganun man yun or hindi, parang lugi para sa P51 per slice. We're not a fan.

What Else
Hole in the Wall is manned with attentive servers who kept on refilling our water and politely bussed our rubbish.
We can't emphasize enough how chic the place looks. Perfect itong tambayan both for those who want their me-time (the mezzanine level is quite detached from the main dining area and can be quiet) and friends who just want to hangout. Sana lang hindi masyadong dumami ang tao someday.
We're looking forward to try out the other stalls so a return-of-the-comeback should be scheduled soon.

Chicha Time
May labing-isang stalls pa lang sila at this point but it looks like there's room for more. May apat kaming nasubukang kainan nung bisita namin. Limited lang ang aming options though, kasi most of the other stalls (lalo na yung mas raved about) ay 4PM onwards pa ang bukas. Mga after lunch kami pumunta.

Tama lang ang prito ng crispy spring rolls. Masarap at eksakto lang ang laman na ground pork and shrimp. Manipis pa ang pabalat. Masarap din yung fresh spring rolls. Generous sa shrimp at malambot ang vermicelli pati yung wrap. Medyo matabang yung sawsawang peanut sauce. Sana mas matamis pa ng konti.
Susubukan sana namin ang pho nila kaso nung nakita ko yung iniihaw na chicken at pork, my radar went that way and thankfully so. Ang sarap nung sweet chili pork. Medyo gummy pa yung pagkaka-ihaw ng karne pero patok na patok sa amin yung marinade. Yung chicken ang medyo so-so ang flavor, leaning to a bit salty. Both are served generously. Perfect sa gutom.

- Two-piece safe-level fried chicken with dirty rice and kimchi
The other levels in increasing spiciness is "spicy" and "chemical", while there's an option to go waffle or corn and coleslaw instead of rice.
Umami supposedly appeals on that outstanding taste caused by MSG. We either can't discern that particular taste or it's really not existing on the chicken. Although both pieces are big, mostly because of the ample breading, its taste is nothing special. Bordering na matabang pa. It's typically deep-fried chicken. Not that it's bad but we expect something more fancy for the cost. Yung fried rice with egg and meat bits ang mas patok pa sa amin. Kimchi is as usual as well.

At a time where the DIY food concept is reaching its plateau, out came Scout's Honor and bolster its charisma yet again among foodies. Naaliw kami ng sobra sa pag-pili ng aming DIY cookie. Andaming pag-pipilian and the dough looks very delicious as it is. Nakakalito lang sa umpisa kung paano mag-place ng order but their staff is really friendly and willing to help.

Medyo napasobra sa tamis yung combination na ginawa namin pero ang sarap ng soft-baked crust at served hot and fresh from the oven. Gusto pa namin mag explore ng iba pang combo. At P95 a piece, sobrang sarap ulit ulitin.
